Micro-enterprise Tax Law Amendments

On Thursday, April 23, Saeima adopted amendments to the Micro-enterprise Tax Law (MUN Law).

• For Micro-enterprises with an annual turnover of 7000.01 to 100,000 euros, the first 3 years will be maintained previous MUN rate of 9%;
• Starting with the 4th year, the rate will be 12% from turnover;
• Sectoral restrictions will take effect from January 1 next year.

The aim is to reduce the administrative and tax burdens on micro-enterprises, especially in business start-up period, as well as sectors with potentially low income.
